Engineering Services
ASET Services has developed and obtained a
wide variety of engineering tools and capabilities that compliment our
product testing programs. This allows us to provide manufacturers with
a
wide variety of engineering services which can often make product
development faster
easier, and more economical.
3D CAD
Our software allows us to easily create virtually any assembly or
and component. If you have an existing part, ASET can use
reverse-engineering to develop a digital model. If
you have a concept in mind, ASET can work with you to develop a final
geometry.
Most people are aware that solid models can be used to generate two
dimensional drawings and prints but they can also be used to quickly
evaluate a number of design features. These can include material
volume, component weight, as well as to explore contact and compression
situations that may develop during packaging and shipping.
Rapid Prototyping
Often the next step after developing a 3D solid model is to develop
a prototype. ASET Services can provide rapid prototyping of parts and
assemblies using SLA prototyping. These parts are often useful to
provide a concrete representation of the digital part. In some cases
these prototypes can even be used as test specimens.
ASET offers a limited injection molding rapid prototyping service. The
prototyping service has limited material selections, but with a quick
turn-around time. The size of the prototype injection molder places
some limitations on the total volume and minimum thickness of an
individual part.
Finite Element Analysis & Simulation
One of the advantages of using digital CAD models during a design
process is that they can easily be used to conduct finite element
analysis. ASET Services is able to offer clients static, modal, and
transient finite element analysis. We can also conduct 3-D rigid body
kinematic simulations.
Modeling sports surface performance is a complicated process and few
companies have more experience in this than ASET Services.
ASET will work with manufacturers to establish realistic goals for
virtual design simulations. While simulation results may vary greatly
from
actual testing, they can indicate design trends and help to
determine critical design features. Advance knowledge of these trends
and features can greatly reduce the number of physical prototype
iterations
iterations.
